Zvov's Street view: the next bird to bring peace (and love)

After the intensive, productive and another word that end with ....ive "Street view" residency, we're happy to share selected touching moments from "De Nieuwe Vrede Vogel". During the residency we created short compositions (up to 1 min.) for the 14 birds nominated to be the next bird who will bring peace to the world (because if we want to be honest... the Dove didn't quite make it...) Zvov, the first group resident in Street view, is on the hunt for the next bird who will bring peace to the world. And what better place to search then de Vogelbuurt, whose streets are named after various birds. Zvov are Maya Felixbrodt (Viola, voice) and Shaya Feldman (Bass, voice) www.zvovtrio.com https://zvov.bandcamp.com/album/babel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9R7c1M7Mdg&t=21s --- About the residency: "Street view" is taking place in de Vogelab, a studio with two glass walls in the heart of de Vogelbuurt, Amsterdam-noord. It is based on the interesting situations created by the characteristics of the studio - a space where one is isolated on one hand and exposed on the other, separated while being part, observing and being observed. During August and September, six artists/groups will create their own project in the studio and neighbourhood, reflecting on this theme from different perspectives. Aiming to engage in a dialogue with the neighbourhood, about the dualities of personal-public, individual-collective, in the context of space, art and society. Through the micro - routines in de Vogelbuurt, the practices as artists and of the residents, to reflect on the macro - how can art and society feed can feed off of each other.

Living Room Concerto: ZVOV - Groningen 11/01/2020.

Zvov is the creative collective of Shaya Feldman (Double-bass) and Maya Felixbrodt (Viola). Both are experimental musicians who begin their path in classical-music and have developed since in other musical styles and artistic disciplines as makers and performers. Together, they create musical and artistic projects that deal with personal and collective fears, anxieties and existential questions, and social and political criticism in simultaneously humorous and serious ways. Like a cabaret, Zvov creates through music, theater and video and collaborates with artists from different fields. Their musical style is a mix of different worlds from classical and contemporary, jazz, pop and folk music, styles that sum up their multidisciplinary universe. Text is a major element of their work, from gibberish to poetry, light and catchy songs alongside abstract text pieces. Zvov sensory and Babel are the last two Zvov projects, with which they performed in various festivals and venues across Europe and Israel. Zvov's artistic approach gives equal importance to profound and to superficial subjects, celebrating the meaningless and meaningful in intimate to awkward relationship with their audiences.
